Croatian Energy Regulatory Agency
The Croatian Energy Regulatory Agency (HERA) has been founded as an autonomous,
independent and non-profit public institution based on the Act on the Regulation
of Energy Activities ("Official Gazette", No.
177/04 and
76/07),
in order to establish and implement regulation of energy activities.
The founder of HERA is the Republic of Croatia and the founding rights are
exercised by the Government of the Republic of Croatia. HERA is responsible for
its work to the Croatian Parliament.
HERA is managed by the President of the Board of Commissioners.
HERA is structured in the way that there is the Board of Commissioners and
Expert Services.
The Board of Commissioners of HERA consists of five members, one of whom is the
President. President of the Board of Commissioners manages the work of the Board
of Commissioners. The President of the Board of Commissioners and its members
are appointed by the Croatian Parliament upon the proposal of the Government of
the Republic of Croatia to a term of five years with the possibility of one
reappointment.
HERA's Expert Services are divided in five sectors, providing expert,
administrative and technical services for HERA.
